Congratulations to Quinn White our Symphony Orchestra & Philharmonia's Tubist for being named valedictorian of his Francis Parker High School's graduating class!

Michael Chang, who won 1st place in Long Beach Mozart Festival will be performing in a prelude concert in Long beach on June 5th. He also received Honorable Mention in Senior Keyboard of 2010 Goodlin Competition. Congratulations!

Michael Armstrong, trombonist in Symphony Orchestra and Philharmonia, was awarded the 2010 “Rising Star” for his performance at the Young Artist Competition held by the La Jolla Symphony & Chorus on January 23rd. At age 14, he was one of the youngest participants, along with Dominique Kim (Most Promising Flute).

The top high school band (which also included some middle school students) at the 6th Annual KSDS/CMEA Jazz Festival at City College was the SDYS Jazz Ensemble, led by Ella Steinberg!!
Both groups will be featured on the "Big Band Brunch" radio show at the end of March (during their pledge drive) on KSDS Jazz88.3. All the bands that performed on the main stage at the festival will be appearing on Channel 16 in an upcoming broadcast highlighting the Jazz Festival!
