The SDYS staff has been keeping busy, and are involved in lots of noteworthy endeavors to come!

David Rumley is currently playing percussion with Cygnet Theatre's production of "Sweeny Todd" thru May 9th. He will also be in "Mixtape", a world premier musical with Lamb's Players Theatre in August.

Ken Serfass is now the Music Assistant for Del Norte High School in the Poway District. Upcoming performances include concerts with the 1st Marine Division Band from Camp Pendleton Aprill 22 &23 at the CCPAE; Brahm's Requeim with the San Diego Festival Chorus & Orchestra May 2; and you can always follow Ken and his brass band on www.ramonatownhall.com/brassband.htm

Dr. Elena Yarritu, founding member of San Diego Coastal Flutes (SDCF) is launching a summer day camp for flutists ages 9-18 in Cardiff-By-The-Sea! www.sdcoastalflutes.org Dr. Yarritu's recently released CD, Scree, received praise from Fanfare Magazine who described the flute & piano duo as "excellent performers" who show "the unconditional affection they feel for the music."

Chris Aquavella's duo "Duo LaRe" will be performing at Dizzy's Jazz Club on May 30th 6pm, and Logan Heights Library on June 26th, 1pm. On June 19th 5:30pm, he will be joined by the Kensington Trio at the Kensington Concert series. |
