22nd Celebration of Music Education – Evening Concert

Nov 19, 6:00 pm

| $10 - $30

The San Diego Youth Symphony and Conservatory presents their 22nd Celebration of Music Education Concerts. Two special concerts to honor the dedicated music educators in our region and celebrate the importance of music education in the lives of our youth and the entire community.

Ticket sales through the SDYS website are now closed.
Tickets are still available through the California Center for the Arts Box Office –>>

The 6pm concert honors Phillip Marcus, a 25-year veteran of the San Diego Unified School District and recently retired after 22
years as Music Director at Standley Middle School in University City. Attendees of the 6pm concert will be treated to performances by our intermediate Showcase Program: Concert Winds conducted by Jessica Swift, and Concert Orchestra, conducted by Juan Cristóbal Palacios. Also performing is our most advanced ensemble from the Ovation Program, Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of SDYS Music Director Jeff Edmons.

SDYS is proud to offer complimentary concert tickets to all music educators in San Diego County. This annual event gives over 600 students enrolled an opportunity to personally thank their music instructors and gives SDYS an opportunity to show appreciation for their support in helping us reach so many children in the San Diego area.
