SDYS’ after-school music program providing free quality music education to Chula Vista students

NEW STUDENTS

If you are a new student with no experience on a string or band instrument, please sign up for our interest list.

The Community Opus Project 2018-19 season is in session and registration has officially closed. Information regarding our complete beginner program is still being discussed between the Opus Team and the Chula Vista Elementary School District. As the structure and requirements are finalized, all families signed-up on our interest list will be notified. Additional district requirements may apply.

Who is Eligible?

Students who live or attend school in Chula Vista and meet eligibility requirements for one of the Opus ensembles are eligible to participate in the Community Opus Project. Below are the eligibility requirements for each ensemble:

Opus rehearsals take place in Chula Vista Schools depending on ensemble. Opus host schools have not yet been finalized; registered students will be notified when details are available.

Get help registering at any Opus program site by speaking to a site coordinator, or register at our free upcoming Viva Musica! celebration on May 19, 2018 from 1 – 4 pm at Chula Vista Memorial Bowl.

Note: Registration does not guarantee acceptance into the program. Applicants will be notified of acceptance no later than July 14, 2018.
