Are you interested in writing music and jamming with your friends? Try this improvisation and songwriting class at SDYS!
Led by SDYS percussion teaching artist Ruben Hernandez, students will find joy and comfort in taking risks and creatively expressing themselves by making music! Through the use of ostinato, groove, melody, harmony, rhythm, lyrics, form, and other musical elements, students learn how to intuitively create and compose music through experimentation and improvisation.
Improvisation & Songwriting is open to all current SDYS Inspiration, Showcase, and Ovation students and their friends who have had at least one year of experience in an orchestra or band instrument.
