SDYS offers tuition assistance so that all families can allow their children to experience the joy of music. We are strongly committed to our financial aid program and the principle that financial need should not be a barrier to enter our programs.
Need-based tuition assistance is available for any musician enrolled in SDYS but please understand that applying for tuition assistance does not guarantee approval. To ensure a consistent and fair process for all families, applicants must qualify for assistance.
SDYS is committed to making quality music education programs accessible and affordable to any young person who wants to participate. In support of this goal, The Encore Fund has been established to provide tuition assistance. Please submit your application early to ensure that it is considered before funds run out.
To apply for need-based tuition assistance, please submit the two-page tuition assistance application (below) along with the first two pages of your Form 1040 2021 tax return, signed. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call at 619-233-3232 x. 4 with any questions. All information will be kept confidential and only used for the purposes of determining eligibility for tuition assistance.
- Due to changes in the California public school lunch program for 2022, lunch letters are no longer an accepted form of documentation for the Tuition Assistance Program.
- Families who have not filed a 2021 US tax return should contact email@example.com for assistance.
Please note: tuition assistance is not available for the registration fee.
