San Diego Youth Symphony and Conservatory

Congratulations to Ovation violinist Ellie Seohyun Lee for her success at the most recent La Jolla Music Society Discovery Series Musical Prelude, at which student musicians perform prior to the headlining Discovery artist.

She performed Sibelius’ “Allegro Moderato” from Violin Concerto in D Minor, Op. 47, and Shchedrin’s “In the Style of Albéniz,” accompanied by Cho-Hyun Park. Ellie is a tenth grader at Del Norte High School and has been in SDYS for eight years. She’s also a founding member of SDYS’ Youth Leadership Council and helped organize the group’s virtual “YLC Presents: Works by Black Composers” concert.

Ellie spends her time volunteering, teaching violin, and performing regularly for seniors – in addition to enjoying Pilates, traveling, and having fun with her friends.
